Presenter Introduction:

Niu Haibo, male, is an associate professor of Dalhousie University, Canada. In 1997, he graduated from the major of water supply and drainage under the School of Environmental and Municipal Engineering, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology. He obtained a Master’s Degree and a Doctoral Degree with the Department of Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Memorial University of Newfoundland, respectively in 2003 and 2008. During 2008 and 2011, he acted as a visiting scholar (in the post-doctoral status) at Bedford Institute of Oceanography under Fisheries and Oceans Canada, financially backed by Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. Since September 2012, he has held a teaching post at the Department of Engineering, the Faculty of Agriculture, Dalhousie University (he received the honor as a tenured professor in 2017). Meanwhile, he is a doctoral tutor of the Department of Oceanography and the Department of Civil and Resource Engineering at Dalhousie University. Professor Niu actively participates in activities held by professional associations. Since 2015, he has acted as the president of the Nova Scotia branch, Canadian Society for Civil Engineering.

Professor Niu mainly researches the transport and diffusion process of pollutants in water and the simulation of water environment numerical values. Professor Niu has published 46 academic papers in English on relevant international academic conferences and international core journals (including 30 SCI and EI papers) and 7 technical reports (including one technical report under the 600 Serial, the United States Environmental Protection Agency). He once undertook the Chair of Technical Sessions of several international conferences, including CSBE 2016, ISOPE 2016/17, MTS/IEEE Oceans 2016, and iMFE2014.
